Use of this site

By registering, accessing and using the advanced features of the Site you agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions and these Participation Rules as amended by the QLS from time to time.

Breach of the Terms & Conditions or these Participation Rules may result in your registration and access to the Site being cancelled at the sole discretion of the QLS.

Acceptable Conduct

It is not acceptable conduct for use of the Site to:

  • Act in a manner which is in breach of professional obligations under the Legal Profession (Solicitors) Rules 2007 (Qld), its equivalent in any jurisdiction or associated legislation, including failing to extend courtesy to professional colleagues at all times;
  • Act in breach of any applicable laws or to encourage anyone to breach any applicable laws;
  • Act in such a way as to give rise to any civil liability for the QLS or any user of the Site, or to cause any loss or damage to any person;
  • Post or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, inflammatory, unnecessarily argumentative or otherwise objectionable content;
  • Alter, damage, or delete any content on the Site without QLS authorisation or otherwise interfere with the ability of others to access the Site;
  • Claim a relationship with or to speak for any agency, business, association, institution, or other organisation for which you are not authorised to claim such a relationship;
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person or organisation;
  • Post, transmit or include a link to any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation to users of the Site, except that a user is permitted to include their contact details and other relevant professional information in their online profile section of the Site; and
  • Seek or obtain multiple online registrations for one Society member, or amend a username to be a pseudonym or take any action to obscure the true identity of a user of the Site.
